SHICK, Charles W. – of Montrose, age 91, died Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at Living Joy Memory Care in Flushing. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Friday, December 30, 2016 at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Montrose. Hospice Chaplain Anthony Ferriell officiating. Burial to follow in Montrose Cemetery. Family will receive visitors on Thursday from 1-8PM and on Friday from 10AM until time of services at 11AM. Memorial contributions may be made to the Kayla O'Mara Memorial Scholarship Fund.
Charles was born August 22, 1925 in Montrose, MI to the late Russell and Fern (Fent) Shick. He was a Montrose resident his entire life. He served in the US Army during WW II and was a POW. Charles married Millicent Bennett on August 30, 1946 in Saginaw. She preceded him in death on November 17, 2016. He retired from Chevrolet in 1985 with 39 years seniority and was a member of the UAW Local #659. Charles was an assistant Scout Master for the Boy Scouts for several years. He loved to putter in the garden.
Surviving are: 4 children: Robert (Linda) Shick of Clio, Wayne (Lynne) Shick of Montrose, Kay Shick of Flint, and Linda O'Mara of Montrose; 13 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.
