PANOFF, Simeon “Sam” - Of Flint, age 90, died Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at McLaren-Flint.
Funeral service will be held 11 am Saturday, January 30, 2016 at St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, 2143 South Center Road, Burton, MI 48519.

Burial in Evergreen Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to St. Nicholas Orthodox Church or Michigan Dyslexia Institute.
Visitation 5-8pm Friday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. A Parastas Service will be held 7pm Friday evening at the funeral home. Visitation 10am Saturday at the church until the time of the service.
Sam was born in Bouf, Macedonia on November 10, 1925, the son of the late Lazor and Katherine (Valcheff) Panoff and immigrated to America in December of 1946. He married Thomais Brayannis in 1960. Sam was a member of St. Nicholas Orthodox Church. He was an avid gardener and loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. He attended GMI taking some mechanics classes and worked for General Motors briefly before he decided to go into business for himself. Sam owned and operated Central Lunch, Flint Original Coney Island and the Nite Owl Coney Island. He enjoyed his morning coffee with his friends at Atlas Coney Island.
Surviving are children; Paul and wife Kelly of Troy, MI, Katherine and husband Deacon Kerry Gonser of Grand Blanc, and Steve and wife Gail of Pinckney, MI.
Grandchildren; Alexander, Katherine, Noah, Caroline, Colin, and Joey;
Brother, Angelo and wife Christine of Flint;
Sisters; Aspasia of Flint and Mitra of Windsor, Ontario, Canada;
Nephews; Philip, Michael (Janice), Christopher (Krista) and Thomas (Christie).
He was preceded in death by his wife, Thomais, parents, brother John and niece Christine Marie.
