Dekalaita-Foley, Shirley A. –of Flushing, age 79, passed away Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at home. Shirley’s final resting place will be at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan. This will take place later in the year. Shirley was born February 12, 1938 in Donophan, Missouri the daughter of the late Lizzy and Virgil Greenway. She had resided in the Flint area and then moved to Florida, residing in Pinellas and Pasco Counties from 1976 to 2014. She was active in Amvets, the American Legion and the Marine Corp League and was always willing to volunteer to help others. In 2014 Shirley returned to Michigan and resided in Flushing. Surviving are: her children, Michelle Greer, Mitchell Dekalaita and wife Dawn, and Matthew Dekalaita and wife Cindy; grandchildren, Shannon, Nick, Jake, Rachel, Hannah, Sarah, Joseph, Alexis, Nicholas, and Madison; great-grandchildren, John and Naomi and Ian; sister, Alice Dillard of St. Louis, Missouri and many nieces, nephews and friends. Mrs. Dekalaita-Foley was preceded in death by her husband, Nicholas Dekalaita; daughters, Nikki and Kelly; and by her second husband, Bob Foley.
