RUST, Debra Kay – Of Byron, age 56, died Saturday, July 6, 2019 at her residence, with loving family present, after a courageous battle.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 13, 2019 at St. Mary Catholic Church, 700 Columbia Drive, Durand, Michigan, Father Douglas Osborn officiating.
Burial in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation 3-8 p.m. Thursday and 1-8 p.m. Friday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road.
A Rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
There will be no visitation at church on Saturday.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to her son, Carson’s college fund.
Debra was born in Flint, Michigan on September 11, 1962, the daughter of George J. and the late Dorothy A. (Rosiek) Majchrowski.
On June 29, 1996 she married Donald Patrick Rust in Flint.
She belonged to St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Fenton.
She was a devoted wife and mother. Debbie was an accomplished artist and avid gardener.
Debra was a horse lover and enjoyed horse showmanship. She was a pet lover, who loved her cats and dogs.
She enjoyed fishing with her husband and son, Carson and liked hunting and metal detecting.
Surviving are husband, Donald Patrick;
son, Carson Patrick Rust;
father, George Majchrowski;
siblings, Catherine (Mike) Robison, Michael (Michele) Majchrowski, Rita (Jim) Kennedy, Maria Majchrowski and Gloria Majchrowski;
many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy.
