Loretta Hazel Morris of Flushing, age 88 years old, joined the Lord on Tuesday, October 8, 2024 at Ascension-Genesys Hospital surrounded by family. A Celebration of Life will take place on Thursday, October 17, 2024, at 1:00 pm with the viewing immediately preceding the service from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. Both will take place at the River Church, 5105 N. McKinley Rd. Flushing, Michigan 48433. Pastor John Carter will officiate. Burial will be in Chicota, Texas. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Dementia Foundation.
Loretta was born in Chicota, Texas on October 23, 1935, the daughter of Norris and Clara (Hunter) Sain. Loretta was a a faithful member of the River Church, formerly the First Baptist Church of Flushing, for many years. She loved the Lord with all her heart and all her soul, and shared this love with her family and friends. Loretta was proud of her career as the manager at Flint Air Service’s Airline Terminal Operations.
Loretta was a force of nature in high heels and lip stick. She was bold, caring, determined, and in so many ways larger than life. Loretta was adventurous and daring. Her courage knew few boundaries and she never shied away from a challenge.
Loretta was a people person and she poured her heart and soul into each relationship she shared. She was friendly, witty, outgoing, and always eager to laugh. She never met a stranger and welcomed others into her life without pause or reservation.
Loretta was devoted to her family and friends. There were no depths too deep or distances too far that she wouldn’t undertake to be there for someone she cared for. Always eager to help, to give advice, and to bring comfort to others, she gave of herself freely and cared deeply.
Loretta is survived by her children, Rodney and wife Carol Dickson, Rhonda and husband Tom Duncan; grandchildren, Erin (Kate Donahoe) Dickson, Aleisha (Justin) Orr, Tommy (Debbie) Duncan, Laura (James Matuszewski) Duncan; great-grandchildren, Aidan, Cannon, Pierce, Landon, Lily, Gracie, Jules, & Harper; sisters, Ann Graves, Carolyn Baker, Kathy Young; brothers, Gary (Gayle) McCann, Rick (Susie) Sain, and by many beloved nieces and nephews & friends whom she held as family. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Don Sain, sister, Glenda Ohringer, brother, Larry McCann; and brothers-in-law, Thomas Graves, Jack Baker, and Ronnie Young.
Her life touched many and her absence will be felt by all those who knew her, but her spirit will live on in the beautiful memories we share and the lasting impact of her love, kindness, and unwavering support.
