HICKEY, Edward “Captain Ed” - formerly of Swartz Creek, retired to Florida, age 64, died Wednesday, July 24, 2013 in Florida.
A Memorial Service will be held 2pm Sunday, August 11, 2013
at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint,
Pastor Steve Wood officiating.
Cremation has taken place.
Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society
Visitation 12-7pm Sunday at the funeral home.
Ed was born in Flint on February 14, 1949, the son of Miles and Rosemarie (Owens) Hickey. On November 12, 1994 he married Dawn Wampler in Las Vegas. Ed graduated from St. John Vianney School, Class of 1967. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy during the Vietnam Era. He worked at Fisher Body and retired from Truck and Bus after 43 years of service. He was a New Product Launch Manager. He loved boating, fishing, hunting and trips to the casino. He was a big Tigers Baseball and Michigan fan. He enjoyed the warmth in Florida “Endless Summer”. Ed loved his dog Paris. Ed loved his family and will be missed by many.
Surviving are wife, Dawn;
mother, Rosemarie Hickey;
3 sons, Jason (Jamie) Hickey, D.J. George and Dustin George.
Edward was preceded in death by his father and brother, Jim Hickey.
