Mark, a corrections Deputy with the Sumner County Sheriffs Department passed away Friday April 8, 2011 at Greenview Regional Hospital in Franklin Kentucky as a result of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident on the April 7.
Born January 1, 1969 in Flint, Michigan, Mark was one of three boys born to Rose and Frank Grant. A Graduate of Kearsley High School Flint, MI 1987, with advanced diplomas in Building Trades. Mark began his professional career with Acme Manufacturing in Auburn Hills where he worked as an Automation Technician. Mark met his wife Angelica of Saginaw Michigan, and was married in 2000. Marks career took his family to Portland Tennessee. With a decline in manufacturing, Mark made a career change and started in Law Enforcement with the Sumner County Sheriffs Department, Tennessee in 2009 as a Corrections Deputy. The loving father of three, Mark continued his education with Volunteer State University, where he proudly maintained a 4.0 grade point. Mark is preceded in death by his Mother, Rose Walker in 2010 and Father Frank in 2008. Mark is survived by wife Angelica, Daughter Virginia (Delawrence), Sons Alvin and Alex, Brothers Paul (Deana) of Owosso, MI and Jody (LeAnne) of Davison, MI and Grand Children Aurora-Jeanette and Jayden, many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Tennessee family and friends will gather in memoriam on Monday April 11th , 11:00AM at the Liberty Free Will Baptist Church, located at 891 College Street; Portland, TN. Michigan family and friends will gather in memoriam on Wednesday April 13th, 11:00 AM at the Great Lakes Baptist Temple located at 2112 E. Maple Road; Flint, MI.
