SANCHEZ, Ninfa A. - Of Flushing, age 91, died Friday, August 7, 2020 at her residence.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 12, 2020 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 2415 Bagley Street, Flint, Father Tom Firestone officiating.
Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Food Bank of Eastern Michigan.
Visitation 9 a.m. Wednesday at church until the time of the service.
Ninfa was born in Hamblin, Texas on May 23, 1929, the daughter of the late Silvrio and Galdina (Amaya) Avila.
On June 28, 1950 she married Mario Sanchez in Flint.
She was a member of St. Michael Catholic church and attended St. John Vianney Catholic Church.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Surviving are children, Gloria Smith, Rosemary Light, Mario and wife Kimberly Cantu, Debra Sanchez, Michael Sanchez and fiancee’ Annie Foster, Lisa Sanchez, Kristina Sanchez and husband Mark Rutherford;
10 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson and one on the way;
sisters, Clarissa Moore, Neomi Reyes;
many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Mario Sanchez; son, Samuel J. Sanchez; sons-in-law, David C. Light and Philip D. Smith; 5 brothers and sisters.
