ASCENCIO, Janie – of Burton, age 70, passed away April 10, 2018 at Hurley Medical Center. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held 1-5 PM Saturday, April 21, 2018 at Faith Christian Family Church, 3440 Davison Rd., Lapeer, MI 48446. Inurnment will be in Great Lakes National Cemetery at a later date.
Janie was born in Toledo, OH on July 25, 1947. She married Jesse Ascencio on January 14, 1966 in Davison Township, Michigan. Janie retired from Chevy Truck & Bus in 1990. She enjoyed sewing and gardening (especially her roses). Janie was strong in her faith and was active in her church. Her favorite time of the year was Christmas and could not wait to set up her family Christmas tree. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and her grandchildren.
Janie is survived by her husband, Jesse Ascencio; children, Anthony (Shannon) Ascencio, Lynn (Patrick) Huntley and Lydia (Salvatore) Zuccaro; grandchildren, Jesse (Samantha) Ascencio, Asa (Mildred) Zuccaro, Mercedes (Nicholas) Cunningham, Alexis Porritt, Aristotle and Sahara Ascencio; great-grandchild, Nora Lynn Ascencio; brother, Robert (Janie) Rubio; sister, Lydia Pacheco.
