Jordan, Daniel J. “Red” of Flushing, age 68, died Friday, June 7, 2024, at Hurley Medical Center. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Thursday, June 13, 2024, at St. Robert Catholic Church. Fr. Jonathan Perrotta will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Robert Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Wednesday at Rossell Funeral Home and 10 a.m. Thursday at the church until the time of the Mass. A rosary will be prayed 7 p.m. Wednesday at Rossell Funeral Home followed by a memorial service under the auspices of Flushing Knights of Columbus, #8489. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to The Knights of Columbus #8489.

Daniel was born in Flint, Michigan on October 1, 1955, the son of Leo and Alice (Diehl) Jordan. He attended Central Michigan University. In a fate meeting at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas, Texas, Dan met Coystle Townsend. They fell in love and were married on August 30, 1980, in Odessa, Texas. Dan worked for over 30 dedicated years at Domino’s Pizza in Distribution.

He was an active and faithful member of St. Robert and St. John Vianney Catholic Churches, where he was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He looked forward to his annual visits to Manresa Jesuit Retreat House. Dan spent his time volunteering at the North End Soup Kitchen, Catholic Charites, and the Salvation Army. He donated blood regularly to the American Red Cross. He was also a member of the Franciscans. Dan was active at the Flushing YMCA and recently volunteered for Flushing SALT.

Dan was an avid sports fan, especially his beloved Detroit Tigers, Lions and Red Wings. He loved U of M Football and loved to rile up the MSU fans in the family. He was an animal lover and was greeted at the rainbow bridge by his beloved dogs. His greatest love was being a grandpa to his grandchildren. He cherished teaching his grandson, Nathan, how to swim. He enjoyed attending Detroit Tigers baseball games with his granddaughter, Charlotte. He looked forward to summer vacations in Lewiston, MI, where he watched his granddaughter, Emma, grow and play.

Dan is survived by his wife of 43 years, Coystle; children, Markie (Jay) Madden, Becky (Rob) Janes, Dana (Paul) Baumgart, Matthew (Maria) Jordan; grandchildren, Nathan, Charlotte, Emma, Sky, Blake; brother, Tom (Brenda) Jordan; nieces, Brooke (Brandon Bradshaw) Jordan, Susan (Paul) Dagenais, Sarah Jordan; great nieces and nephew, Lila, Dash, Alice, Jordan, Madison, Vee; and many other nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Barbara Harris; brother, Larry Jordan; great-niece, Erin Dagenais; and great-nephew, Parker Dagenais.
