David "Butch" L. Lasley, age 67 of Lake, passed away Thursday, October 16, 2014 in Clare. Butch was born the son of the late Luther Elmer and Willie Mae (Gann) Lasley on January 21, 1947 in Flint. He was united in marriage to Elizabeth "Betty" Queen in 1985 in Flint. Butch had worked for the City of Flint's Park and Recreation Department for 25 years, retiring in 1994. Butch and Betty had moved to Lake in October of 1994. He was a member of the Lake Rod and Gun Club as well as an avid golfer, playing in a league at the Firefly Golf Course in Clare. Butch enjoyed life and spending time with family and friends; he enjoyed watching sports on TV especially U of M Football.
Butch is survived by his loving wife Betty; his sister Wanda Sue Cramer (Ruben); many nieces and nephews and numerous brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws. Butch was predeceased in death by his sister Nancy "Bud" Long and his brother-in-law Dick Long.
Visitation and a memorial service will be held at the Farwell Chapel of Stephenson-Wyman Funeral Home on Friday, October 24, 2014. Visitation starts at 11 A.M. with the service to begin at 1 P.M. Burial will follow in the Garfield Twp. Cemetery in Lake. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association. On-line guestbook at www.stephenson-wyman.com
