MANKOWSKI, John L. - of Clio, age 88, died Friday, June 9, 2017 at his residence with family by his side. Funeral services will be held 11AM Monday, June 12, 2017 at the O'Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Fr. Thomas Nenneau officiating. Burial will be 11AM Wednesday, June 14, 2017 in Great Lakes National Cemetery with full military honors. Those desiring to attend cemetery services may meet at the funeral home at 10AM Wednesday for procession. Family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Sunday from 1PM until 7PM and Monday from 10AM until the time of service at 11AM. A Rosary will be prayed at 6:30PM Sunday evening at the funeral home. John was born January 30, 1929 in Gaylord, Michigan to the late Leon and Agnes (Piasecki) Mankowski. He married Stella Kosiara on August 21, 1954 in Gaylord. Mr. Mankowski is a U.S. Army Korean War Veteran. He retired from Chevrolet in 1984 with 30 years seniority and was a member of the UAW Local # 659. John was also a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Mt. Morris. Surviving are: Wife, Stella Mankowski; Children: Pauline Morrow, Patricia (Jim) Sanders, Jeanette Head, Timothy Mankowski, Don (Faith) Mankowski, Larry (Maria) Mankowski; Many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and other loving family members and dear friends.
