VanKuren, Lester Marvin - Age 77, of Hale, our dearest husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, entered into Heaven, December 1, 2019. Funeral services will be held 12 PM Friday, December 6 at Sharp Funeral Homes, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Visitation will be held Thursday from 2 -8 PM . Those desiring may make contributions to American Cancer Association and American Diabetes Association. Lester was born October 21, 1942 in Evart, Michigan, the son of James and Myrtle VanKuren. Lester would marry the love of his life, Sharon, daughter of Harold and Lillian McKinzie, in Atlas, Michigan, March 4, 1961. Les was a skilled carpenter and loved to sing the country classics. He was hard working, generous, and loving. He will be missed by all. Lester is survived by his wife, Sharon; children, Lester (Michelle) VanKuren Jr., Douglas (Julie) VanKuren, Karen (Kirk) Winget; grandchildren, Lester III, Chantel (Casey), Christle (Brent), Brian, Kurtis, McKinzie; great-grandchildren, Van, Silas, Wally, Dery, Nash, Anna; siblings, Gordon VanKuren; sister-in-laws, Mary (Don) Pillen, Judy, Mary Jane; many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Jerry VanKuren, Jack VanKuren; nephew, Dennis VanKuren; sister-in-law, Sue VanKuren, Janet (Tom) Baker.
