ORTIZ, Ladonna Emma - age 82, of Swartz Creek, died Saturday, August 20, 2011 at His Caring Arms Assisted Living in Holly. Funeral mass will be celebrated 12:30 PM Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church, 4413 Morrish Rd, Swartz Creek with Fr. Steven Mattson celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Mary Cemetery. Visitation will be held 6-9 PM Monday and 1-4 and 6-9 PM Tuesday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek where a rosary will be prayed 7 PM Tuesday evening. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Alzheimer's Association. Mrs. Ortiz was born July 19, 1929 in Alma, the daughter of Henry and Agnes (Siefker) Wieferich. She married Gilbert Ortiz on August 26, 1950 in Shepard, MI and he preceded her in death on September 23, 2006. Mrs. Ortiz was a member of St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church CCW and past president of Swartz Creek VFW Auxiliary and was active in making blankets for veterans’ families. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, gardening and cooking. She loved her "sister's weekends". Mrs. Ortiz is survived by: six sons, Mike (Robbin) of Swartz Creek, Steve (Sandy) of Nashville, TN, Fred (Dee) of Swartz Creek, Andy (Debbie) of Grand Blanc, Ken (Ginger) of Lennon, Jim of Brighton; grandchildren, Dana, Tony, Vanessa, Andria, Mike, Angela, David, Stephanie, Shannon, Angela, Ryan, Jason, Kimberly, Maria, Chad, Tiffany, Jessica, and Tarah; great-grandchildren, Olivia, Madilynn, Landen, Kaitlynn, Joseph, Parker, Sydney, Dominic, Adrianna, Gabriella, Katelyn, Kain, Keira, Brandon, Emma, Derek, Andrew, Makayla, Christian, and Bradyn; brothers and sisters, Mareta (deceased) and Gaylord Arnold of Swartz Creek, Vernon and Joanne Wieferich of Higgins Lake, LaVerne and Mary Wieferich of Lansing, Elnora Hacker of Alma, Joyce Vibber of Alma, Armilla and DuWain Simon of Holt, Henry and Sue Wieferich of DeWitt, Rosella and Lyle White of Alma, Althea and Keith Crosslan of Holt, Sandra Kay (deceased), Caroline and Tim Meyers of IN, Diane and Bob Courter of Shepard; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Carrie and Trino (deceased) Cisneros of San Antonio, TX, John Ortiz of Grand Blanc, Alicia and Maynard Hughes of Midland, Virginia and Gary Smith of Traverse City, Ray and Doris Ortiz of St. Louis, MI, Margaret and Terry Calkins of Midland, Martha and Keith Stewart of Sandford, Felix and Becky Ortiz of Canadian Lakes, MI, Mary and Mike Siminski of Canadian Lakes, Robert and Julie Ortiz of VA; many nieces and nephews.
