KELUSH, Geraldine F. (Truax) – Of Burton, age 83, died on Sunday, April 22, 2012 at The Pines Memory Care of Burton. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite Catholic Church, 4133 Calkins Road, Flint, Father Paul Tarabay officiating. Burial in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation 3-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road. An Incensing Service will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Mrs. Kelush will be at the church from 10 a.m. Wednesday until the time of the Mass. Gerry was born in Flushing, Michigan on September 25, 1928, the daughter of Floyd and Blanche (Long) Truax. On September 7, 1953 she married James Kelush. Mrs. Kelush was previously employed at Genesee Motors Pontiac-Cadillac dealership. Gerry loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and golfing, gardening, cooking and volunteering.
She was a member of Holy Rosary Altar Society, Flushing Girls Club, a Girl Scout Leader and Genesys Health Park volunteer for many years.
Surviving are husband of 58 years, Jim; 2 daughters, Karen (Dan) Badgley of Clarkston, Lynette (Dave) Walters of Burton; 1 brother, Charles (Kay) Truax of Merced, California; grandchildren, Andrew, Kristina, Kevin, Christopher and Adrian; 3 great-grandchildren;
3 sisters-in-law; nieces, nephews and close friends. Gerry was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Philip Truax of Merced, California, in 20l1 and grandson, Jason Walters, in 2005. Memorial contributions may be offered to the Alzheimer’s Association, Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite Catholic Church or charity of one’s choice. The family would like to express a special thanks to the staffs at The Pines Memory Care of both Burton and Lapeer and Hospice Advantage caregivers, Mary and Crystal.
