Barbara Ann Lamon 72 of Traverse City passed away peacefully Saturday, October 9, 2010 with her family by her side.
Barbara was born June 23, 1938 in Muskegon the daughter of Carl and Charlotte Alpers.
She married Sylvester “Buzz” Lamon on August 24, 1985 at All Faiths Chapel in Traverse City, Michigan.
Barbara loved being with family, baking wedding cakes and delicious pies and crafting. She and Buzz embraced everyone that came into their home. They celebrated each day with each other, family, and friends including their extended family with the AA Community. She put on elaborate spreads for Holidays and Super Bowl Parties. She will always be remembered for her smile, open loving arms and her fabulous cooking.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Sylvester “Buzz” and both parents. She is survived by two daughters, Dianna (John) Anderson of Williamsburg, Jacquelyn Skorski of Traverse City and one son, Kenneth Skorski of Traverse City one grandson, Terry (Corina) Anderson, and a great-granddaughter, Hallie Rose Anderson, brothers and sisters, Bonnie (Robert) Anderson, Bill (Jeanne) Alpers, Dick Alpers, Cindy Alpers, Mari (Loren) Gallivan, one niece, Heather and five nephews, Rick, Shawn, Jason, Alex and Sean.
The family extends a heartfelt thank you to Munson Medical ICU Staff for taking care of their mother in their final days.
A private family service will take place at a later date.
Memorial Contributions may be directed to Munson Medical Center, ICU in Barbara’s name.
