Dashner, JoAnn K. of Flushing, age 73, died Tuesday, October 25, 2016, at Heartland Health Care Center-Fostrian. Funeral Mass will be 2 p.m. Friday, October 28, 2016, at St. Robert Catholic Church. Fr. Gordon Reigle will officiate. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Thursday at Rossell Funeral Home and 1 p.m. Friday at the church until the time of the Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Sisters of St. Joseph, Baden, Pennsylvania.
JoAnn was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on September 19, 1943, the daughter of C.B. and Kathleen (White) Wright. She married John Dashner on June 24, 1967 in East Jordan, Michigan. JoAnn was a Third Grade Teacher for 25 years at Holy Family Catholic School in Grand Blanc. She was a member of St. Robert Catholic Church. JoAnn loved volunteering and enjoyed giving her time to the Flushing Christian Outreach Center, St. Robert, Seymour Elementary and making prayer blankets. She loved crossword puzzles, reading, and going out to dinner and movies with her husband and friends. JoAnn's greatest joy in her life were her children and her beloved grandsons.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, John; children, John Dashner and Danielle and husband Alan Letter, all of Flushing; grandsons, Brenden and Connor; sister, Claudia Warner of German, NY; brother, James and wife Diana Wright of South Haven, MI; sister-in-law, Mary Louise Wright of Sun City, FL; and special nephew, Kenneth Warner of Auburn, NY. JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents and brother, C. Brooks Wright.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Heartland-Fostrian, Heartland Hospice, and her many loving friends for their care and continued love and support.
