Ruth R. (Parlberg) Thompson of Davison, Died Saturday March 9, 2013 at Genesys Hospice Care Center, Goodrich. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 pm Monday March 18, 2013 at the Hansen Funeral Home Groves Chapel, Downtown Davison. Rev. Debbie Line officiating. Family will receive visitors from 11; 00 am Monday until time of services. Those desiring may make contributions in Ruth’s memory to the charity of your choice. Ruth was born in Saginaw Michigan October 29, 1923 the daughter of the late; Edward & Alice (Taylor) Parlberg. Ruth was joined in marriage to her husband of sixty-three years on August 8, 1942 in Birch Run Michigan, and he preceded her in death on December 27, 2005. Ruth and her husband Robert owned and operated the Shady Lane Resort in Houghton Lake for several years. Ruth enjoyed her family, crafts, painting, flowers, playing the organ, and playing cards. She was a loving, generous, kind person. She was loved and respected by all who knew her. Surviving are sons, Bob Thompson Jr. and wife Darrene of Davison; Ron Thompson and wife Judy of Mansfield Texas; daughter Rosemary Alexander of Walhalla, South Carolina. Grandchildren Robert III and wife Kayla Thompson of Davison, Tyler Thompson and fiancé Molly Dolan of Davison, Jordan Thompson of Davison, Rachel and Vinson Smith of South Carolina, Anthony and wife Allison Polidano of Saline Michigan, and Elaine Thompson of Sterling Heights. Great grandchildren: Zoe and Layla Smith of South Carolina, Julian and Sebastian Polidano of Saline Michigan, and Charlie Thompson of Davison. Sister Rena, and Brothers Ralph and Raymond.
