BODAG, Patricia Kay (Downing) - Of Flint, age 74, died Friday, December 16, 2016 at Providence Park Hospital in Novi.
Funeral service will be held 1pm Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint.
Burial in Great Lakes National Cemetery.
Visitation 11am Wednesday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Patricia was born in Flint on April 4, 1942, the daughter of the late John Nelson and Dessa (Hall) Downing. She graduated in the first graduating class of 1960 from Flint Southwestern. On March 8, 1969, she married John Louis Bodag. Patricia worked at the Genesee County Register of Deeds then became a mortgage underwriter for several companies. And was a partner at Mercury Mortgage.
She won the Presidential Award for Mortgage Banker of the Year and attended the Inaugural Ball for President John F. Kennedy. She took on the job of raising her friends 2 children, when her friend became ill. Patricia had a passion for cooking. For her 70th Birthday her husband took her to Paris, France for an entire day of cooking with a private chef.
Patricia leaves her husband, John;
Daughter, Laura Roberts;
Son, Phillip (Patti) Murphy;
Grandchildren, Jacob, Maddy, Tayler and Logan;
Sisters, Bonny (Dave) Mark and Mary (Mark) Dugas;
Nieces, Amy (James) Cunningham, Andrea (Greg) Vinstra, Annette (Greg) Hajec, Cynda (Derek) Parks;
great nieces and nephews;
and lifelong friend, Sandy Pulliam.
