HYDE, Paul E. – of Davison, age 81, passed away Thursday, September 4, 2014 at his residence. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 AM Monday, September 8, 2014 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 404 N. Dayton St., Davison; Rev. Fr. Andrew Czajkowski celebrant. Cremation will take place following the Mass. Visitation will be on Saturday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM and Sunday from 1-4 & 6-8 PM at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the Mass on Monday at church. A Memorial Service will be held under the auspices of the Knights of Columbus 3rd and 4th degree #4090 at 6:30 PM on Saturday. A Rosary will be prayed at 7 PM on Sunday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Huntington’s Disease Society of America.
Paul was born in Flint, MI on March 5, 1933, son of the late Artha and Alice (Banks) Hyde. He proudly served his country for five years in the U.S. Air Force. Paul married the late Lois Hyde on August 9, 1952 and she preceded him in death on August 15, 1999. He married Irene Miller in Davison on May 23, 2000. Paul was a Sargent on plant security at GM and happily retired in 1986. He belonged to St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and was a member of the Davison Knights of Columbus #4090. Paul enjoyed golfing, hunting and spending time at their cottage in Houghton Lake and Bradenton, FL. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family.
Paul is survived by his wife, Irene; children, Rick (Mary) Hyde, Paula Paul, Patti (Mike) Dubie; stepchildren, Dawn (Leonard) Erina, Debbie Irvin, Jerry (Annie) Miller, Denise (Wayne) Maiers, John (Tammy) Miller, Delynne (Mark Yeater) Miller; 11 grandchildren; 13 step-grandchildren; brothers Chuck Hyde and Jerry Hyde; sisters, Donna Wendling and Eunice (Dale) Wright. He was preceded in death by son, Randy Hyde; brothers, Dale Hyde and Jack Hyde.
