HENSON, Olan “KY” – Of Burton, age 84, died Sunday, March 24, 2013 at Avalon Hospice.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 28, 2013 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Reverend Harold K. Polk, Jr. officiating.
Cremation will take place following the service.
Visitation 4-8 p.m. Wednesday and 12 noon Thursday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Olan was born in Copper Hill, Tennessee on May 17, 1928, the son of
Emry and Ida (Hawkins) Henson.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He was married to Florence Schlak.
He was a member of VFW Post #822.
Mr. Henson retired from GM.
Surviving are wife, Florence;
children, James Schlak of Burton and
Patricia Heath of Burton;
many nieces, nephews and friends.
