PONTELLO, Frank Paul - Age 85, of Rotonda West, FL formerly of Grand Blanc, died Saturday, June 30, 2012. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 AM Thursday, July 5, 2012 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Fenton. Fr. David Harvey celebrant. Visitation will be held at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton Tuesday from 1-3 and 5-8 PM; no visitation on Wednesday and at church Thursday from 10:00 AM until time of Mass. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to the Alzheimer's Association. Frank was born February 16, 1927 in Detroit, the son of Frank John and Matilda Gertrude (Long) Pontello. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Navy. He was a graduate of Michigan State University. He retired in 1987 from AC Spark Plug as Plant Manager after 34 years of service. Frank was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Florida and also played Santa Claus for several various organizations. Surviving are: 5 children, Jean and husband Greg Gliha of Plymouth, Joe and wife Maureen Pontello of Fenton, Tim Pontello of Florida, Patty and husband Brian Jaeger of Canton and Frank James Pontello of California; 7 grandchildren and 1 great grandson; brother, Carl and wife Darlene "Bebe" Pontello of Kalamazoo.
