Paul Richard Gilbert, age 71, of Lapeer, formerly of Ellsinore, Missouri and Flint, Michigan, died Friday, March 31, 2017.
He was born August 11, 1945 in Flint, to Halmer and Dorothy (Severance) Gilbert. Paul graduated from Flint Northern High School in 1963 and went on to proudly serve his country in the U.S. Army. Mr. Gilbert worked many years for the Flint Parks & Recreation Department. Paul was a devoted Seventh Day Adventist, he loved to testify about his unwavering love for his Lord and Savior. He was an avid walker and enjoyed listening to music, especially gospel and blue grass.
Paul is survived by his daughters: Amie (Sean Henricks) Starkey of Lapeer and Kristin Chevrette of Lapeer; grandchildren: Garrett Chevrette, Mathieu Chevrette and Alex Chevrette; several cousins, including: Walt (Mary) Williams of Grand Blanc. He was preceded in death by his parents: Halmer and Dorothy Gilbert.
The family will receive friends 4-7PM Wednesday, April 5, 2017, at Muir Brothers Funeral Home in Lapeer. No formal funeral service will take place. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice. Condolences and memories may be shared at www.MuirBrothersLapeer.com.
