Mary Lou Hoover, age 88 years, passed away on Saturday, March 5, 2016 at Covenant Healthcare-Cooper in Saginaw, Michigan. She was born on September 29, 1927 to the late Albert and Emma (Rollinger) Sargent. Mary Lou retired after 38 years of service from General Motors AC Spark Plug in Flint. She was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 2380 in Vassar. She was a member of Curves and enjoyed exercising, reading, watching television and spending time with her family. Survivors include 2 children: Linda (Larry) Zwerk and Donald (Karen) Hoover, her grandchildren: Lisa (Dave) Rupprecht, Jennifer (Julian) Petzold, Ryan (Selma) Hoover and Erin (Melissa) Clink, her great-grandchildren: Tyler, Austin, Collin and Casey Rupprecht, Evan, Alaina and Logan Petzold, Lucas Hoover, Megan, Anthony and Chloe Clink, a great-great-grandchild, Turner Rupprecht, and her siblings: Donald Sargent and Joyce (Pat) O’Kelly. She was preceded in death by a daughter and son-in-law, Sally (Wayne) Clink, a granddaughter, Amy Clink, and her siblings: Rosemary, Albert, Harvey, Jack and Ed Sargent and Betty Fox. Funeral service will be on Thursday, March 10, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Penzien-Steele Funeral Home, 149 N. Main St., Vassar. Julian Petzold will officiate with interment following in Tuscola Township Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at the funeral home from 3-7 p.m. Memorial contributions can be made to Tuscola Community Church. |
