YOUNG, Raymond M. – of Flint, age 84, passed away February 7, 2015 peacefully with his family by his side at his residence in Flint, MI. A Funeral Service will be held 11 AM Friday, February 13, 2015 at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 5073 Daly Blvd., Flint; Pastor Gary L. Beck officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Clio, MI. Visitation will be 5-8 PM Thursday at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison and 10-11 AM Friday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mark Lutheran Church.
Raymond was born in Mt. Morris, MI on September 1, 1930, son of the late Jesse and Daisy (Durham) Young. He married his wife of 61 years, Jean Knake, on October 3, 1953. Raymond was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church and UAW Local # 598. He retired from Chevrolet Truck and Bus in 1986 and enjoyed hunting, camping, fishing, geneology, gardening and crossword puzzles.
Raymond is survived by his wife, Jean; five children, Daniel (Susan), Michael (Mary Lynn), Debra (Bill) Welch, Lori (Chris) Speros, Lana (Dan) Cassidy; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three brothers; two sisters.
