CALLAHAN, Tony “Spyder”- of Flint, age 49, passed away suddenly April 7, 2013 at Hurley Medical Center. A Funeral Service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, April 11, 2013 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison; Pastor Tom Hoose officiating. Cremation will follow the service. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday and 10-11 a.m. Thursday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family’s intention in care of Brandy Callahan.
Tony was born in Flint on June 19, 1963, the son of Raymond E. and Frances D. (Collier) Callahan. Tony married Brandy Lay on February 5, 2007 in Flint. He had worked for Monster Jam for twenty years as a Tech Official. Tony was the mascot for the Genesee Wolves. He was an avid racecar driver and known by many as “Sp4der-Man” at the Auto City and Dixie Speedways. A gifted drummer, Tony played ‘Rock ‘n’ Roll’ for many years. Tony was a full spirited entertainer who’s ‘applause’ was the smiles and laughter of others.
Tony is survived by his wife, Brandy; children, Sara, Jazz, Taylor, Donovan, Hunter and Autumn; granddaughters, Alaina, Gracelynn and Emma; mother, Frances (Bill) Link; brothers, Tim (Rachel) and Dave (Dianne); many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends. His father, Raymond E. Callahan, preceded him in death.
