TODD, Truman “W8HYN” – of Davison, age 84, passed away April 18, 2013 at Genesys Hospice Care Center – Goodrich. A Funeral Service will be held 10:00 AM Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at Davison Missionary Church, 1481 N. Gale Rd., Davison; Pastor Allen Sudmann officiating. Burial, with Military Honors will be in Great Lakes National Cemetery. Visitation will be 11 AM - 2 PM and 4-8 PM Monday at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service on Tuesday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Davison Missionary Church.
Truman was born in Myron, Arkansas on May 23, 1928, but raised in Melbourne, Arkansas. He is the son of the late Owen and Beatrice (McDonald) Todd. Truman married Joyce Sipes on September 17, 1950 at First Baptist Church in Davison. He attended Davison Missionary Church. Truman was a radio operator with the U.S. Army from 1950-1952 in Germany. Truman was a ham radio operator and volunteered for the Crim Race’s in communications. Truman sang in church and many community choirs. He worked at Consumers Power for 42 years, retiring in 1990.
Truman is survived by his wife, Joyce; children, Marlene (Edwin) Weston, Eric (Lavonna) Todd and Tracy (Dennis) Hinterman; 5 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Juanita (Shelby) Upton of Guion, AR; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Pauline and brother, Fred.
