Price, Nelson of Flushing, age 81, died Friday, July 3, 2015, at The Hospice House of Shiawassee County. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 8, 2015, at Mayfair Bible Church. Pastor Robert Baxter and Pastor Johan Gous will officiate. Burial will follow at Sunset Hills Cemetery. Visitation will be 1-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Rossell Funeral Home and 10 a.m. at the church Wednesday, until the time of the service. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Hope Builders Ministries, Mayfair Bible Church or The Hospice House of Shiawassee County.
Nelson was born in Mansfield, Ohio on September 2, 1933, the son of George and Ilo (Moser) Price. He married Rowena Baugh on June 3, 1956. She preceded him in death on September 15, 1985. On April 18, 1987, he married Susan Chase. Nelson graduated from Taylor University in 1956. He was a Mathematics Teacher for 42 years, starting his career in Indiana and later teaching at Flushing, before coming to Flint Community Schools where he retired in 1998. After retirement, Nelson was a tutor at Springview Elementary in Flushing until 2011, where his students affectionately called him “Grandpa Price”. Nelson was an active member of Mayfair Bible Church and was an Administrator of Bible Study Fellowship International in the Flint Men's Class for many years.
He is survived by his wife, Susan; children whom he loved, Ramona R. Price of Danville, IN, Steven E. (Linda Rieth) Price of Flushing, John (Jennifer) Curtis of Flushing, Laurel (Bruce) White of Phoenix, Jon (Darlena) Fox of Lexington, KY; grandchildren whom he adored, Ashley (T.J.) Patton, Jarod (Melissa) Fox, Nicki Kaye, Cheyenne Persails, Emily Fox, Connor Loupe, Dakota (Tiffany) Persails, John Lee Williamson, Jocelyn Curtis, Madelyn Curtis; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Nathan (Myrna) Price; brothers and sisters-in-law, Joe (Rosie) Kerlin, David (Sharilyn) Baugh, Rachel (Craig) Lowe, Fred Gaubatz. |
