Sims, Gerald Dee (Jerry) – of Grand Blanc, age 70, passed away Monday, April 18, 2016 in Traverse City, Michigan. Memorial Services will be held 11:30 a.m. Friday, April 22, 2016 at the Brown Funeral Home, 1480 E. Hill Road, Grand Blanc, MI with visitation 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday and 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Friday. Jerry was born in Detroit, Michigan on September 14, 1945 the son of the late John W. Sims and Delores Dougherty. He was a longtime Grand Blanc businessman in commercial construction. Jerry owned Steel Erectors Inc. and also owned Chappy’s Auto Wash in Grand Blanc. Jerry was also a car enthusiast. Surviving are: wife, Sharyn Sharpe Sims; children, Deborah Moroni and Matthew Sims; grandchildren, Madison, Chappy, Mason, J.C. and Kennedy; also surviving are beloved aunts, uncles, brothers in law, sisters in law and cousins.
