NELSON, Robbin Edward – Of Grand Blanc, age 62, passed away Monday, November 18, 2019 at Ascension Genesys Hospital, after a tragic accident on Saturday, November 16, 2019.
Funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. Saturday, November 23, 2019 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor Rob Prince officiating.
Burial in Evergreen Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Michigan Humane Society or the National Wildlife Federation.
Visitation 4-8 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. Saturday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Robbin was born in Waterford, Michigan on September 25, 1957, to Donald and Melda Nelson.
On October 23, 2001 he married his soul mate, Barbara.
Robbin was a wonderfully kind man, who would do anything at anytime for anyone.
He loved all living creatures, especially his Sandhill Cranes and his 5 cats and they will miss him terribly .
He loved the outdoors, nature and was an avid fisherman.
Robbin retired from GM in 2009 as a prototype designer and recently was employed with MTA as a Your Ride Driver. While at GM, he caught fish and sold them to his co-workers, earning the nickname “Catfish”.
He leaves to forever cherish his memory, loving wife, Barb;
daughter, Lisa (Aaron) Thierry;
grandchildren, Jack, Josie and Max;
sister, Wendy (Jim) Arremony;
brothers, Eric (Leanne), Richard and Dan;
special friends and neighbors, The Justin and Kari Schweigert family; several nieces and nephews.
