Fred Leo Moorhouse, age 83, a lifelong resident of Columbiaville died November 27, 2012 at McLaren - Lapeer.
Fred was born July 5, 1929 in Columbiaville, the son of the late Leslie and Kathleen Moorhouse. He later married Sandra Sawyer on May 10, 1953 in Columbiaville.
Fred served his country honorably in U.S. Army and was a member of the 40-8 Voiture 1536, American Legion - Post 16 of Lapeer, Davison VFW Post 4087. He also served on the Columbiaville Fire Department. He enjoyed golf, hunting, camping, and most of all spending time with family and friends.
Fred is survived by his children: Cathy ( Pete ) Schindler,Christy ( Dave Barrett ) Coon,Fred Moorhouse II,Carol ( Mark ) Winn,Steven Moorhouse, Callie ( Greg ) Spittler,Siblings: Carol Crum, Marion ( John ) Nuckles,
Clarence ( Rosalie ) Moorhouse.
He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Fred was preceded in death by his parents, wife Sandra, brother Bill, and sister Jeanette.
Funeral service Friday 11:00 AM from Jansen Family Funeral Home - Columbiaville, where friends may visit Thursday 3- 9 PM. Pastor Clarence Moorhouse officiating. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery.
