PALKA, Rose L. -Age 94, of Durand, passed away, Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at McLaren-Flint. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 AM Monday, January 15, 2018 at St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church, 4413 Morrish Rd., Swartz Creek. Burial immediately following Mass at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Swartz Creek. Visitation will be held at the church Monday from 10:00 AM until the time of the Mass. Those desiring may make contributions to a charity of your choice.
Rose was born November 25, 1923 in Chesaning, the daughter of James and Anna (Cabelka) Serbus. She married Thomas Martin Palka February 20, 1946 at St. Paul Catholic Church, Owosso. She had resided in Durand since 1979 coming from Flint. Rose loved her family, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She loved to work on jigsaw puzzles.
Surviving are: sons, Ralph (Mary Lou) Palka of Swartz Creek and David Palka of Mundy Township; grandchildren, Kristie (Ryan) Ford of Mt. Morris and Keith (Tiffanie) Palka of Flint Township; several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Thomas; brothers, James, George, Joseph, and Frank; and sisters, Agnes, Millie, Bessie, and Mary. Online tributes may be posted on the obituaries page at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com. |
