Hammer, Florence Mae “Rickie” of Flushing and formerly of Davison, age 85, died Tuesday, December 9, 2014, at McLaren-Flint. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, December 13, 2014, at Rossell Funeral Home. Rev. Debbie Line-Yencer will officiate. Burial will follow at Sunset Hills Cemetery. Visitation will be 1-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Friday and 11 a.m. Saturday until time of service.
Rickie was born in Flint, MI on April 5, 1929, the daughter of Owen and Martha (Maurer) Goodrich. She graduated from Greenville College in Greenville, IL in 1951. Rickie was a teacher and first taught in Ravenna, MI. Later, she was a substitute teacher at Kearsley and Davison schools. Rickie was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She is survived by three sons, Ralph and wife Dee of Davison, Jeff of Flint, Stephen and wife Yvonne of Genesee; five grandchildren, Katie Hammer of Davison, Adam Hammer of Davison, Ryan and wife Kerri Hammer of Burton, Daniel Hammer of Genesee, Chandra Addison of Davison; four great-grandchildren, Maddie, Angelyna, Ben and Kyra; two sisters, Violet and husband Norman Sanders of Bay Town, TX, Yvonne Arnold of Prudenville; many nieces and nephews. |
