SCHAEPKENS, Alie C. – of Owosso, age 84, passed away July 11, 2016 at Oliver Woods Retirement Village, Owosso, MI. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 3 PM Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, G-5199 Richfield Rd., Flint; Rev. Fr. Paul Donnelly celebrant. Cremation will follow the Mass. Visitation will be 5-8 PM Tuesday at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the Mass on Wednesday at the church.
Alie was born in the Netherlands on December 28, 1931, daughter of the late Gillis Jacobus and Albertje Hendrina (Schenk) Van Dien. She married Frans Schaepkens on September 1, 1955 and he preceded her in death. They came to America in 1957 from the Netherlands. Alie was a former member of St. Leo’s then transferred to Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
Alie is survived by her daughter, Liz Stone; sons, Ron (Nancy) Schaepkens and Michael (Rachel) Schaepkens; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.
