THOMPSON, Martica B. – Of Swartz Creek, age 85, died Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at Hyde Park Assisted Living.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 18, 2014 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor Kevin Harbin officiating.
Burial in Glenwood Cemetery.
Those desiring may make contributions to ALS Association.
Visitation 2-4 and 5-8 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. Saturday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Martica was born in Durand, Michigan on September 17, 1929, daughter of the late Duane and Sallie (Lahring) Kettle.
On April 22, 1950 she married Lloyd Thompson in Flint and he passed away on November 9, 1995.
Lloyd and Martica owned and operated Arcade Florist for 45 years in Flint.
Martica was a member of Swartz Creek United Methodist Church, was an Eastern Star member, White Shrine and Zonta.
She was a member of the Flint Yard & Garden Club, Flint Doll Club and Swartz Creek Senior Center.
She was an MSU Spartan fan, was involved with the Girl Scouts and Red Hat Society.
Surviving are three children, Lori-Ann (Robert) Maron, Linda (Fred) Zeisler and Ken (Joanne) Thompson;
grandchildren, Kelly Maron, Alicia Zeisler, Troy (Susan) Zeisler and Andrea Thompson;
one great-grandchild, Rylie Josephine Zeisler;
many nieces and nephews.
