Richard "Dick" Lee Ordway
Age 77 of Perry, formerly of Owosso, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, June 25, 2018 at Sparrow Hospital surrounded by his family.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, June 29, 2018 at the Owosso First Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Brad Stockton and Pastor Marlene Webster co-officiating. The family will receive friends at Nelson-House Funeral Home in Owosso on Wednesday, June 27 from 6:00 to 8:00pm and Thursday, June 28 from 2:00 to 8:00pm.
Richard was born on August 29, 1940 to Harold L. and Dorothy M. (Howe) Ordway in Owosso. He married Patricia Neil in July 1967; they were married 39 years before she predeceased him in 2000. Dick then married Wanda Libertin on July 7, 2001; they have celebrated nearly 17 years of marriage together.
Dick worked for General Motors in Flint for 40 years before retiring. During his life, he could often be found hunting, fishing, or at Greg and Lou’s. He took frequent fishing trips to Canada with friends, and he loved sharing his outdoor hobbies with his grandchildren. Dick cherished any and all time spent with his family and friends. He was a member of the Owosso First Church of the Nazarene for many years. Dick lived his life as a loving follower of Jesus, continually humbled and encouraged by his Savior, and eager to share his faith and love for Christ with everyone.
Dick is survived by his loving wife, Wanda; his son, Chris (Laurie) Ordway; his daughters, Janena (Kevin) Kregger and Debbie Lingle; his 8 grandchildren, Tyler (Adrianna) McGeehan, Anna and Grayson Ordway, Cloe, Lily, and Madison Kregger, and Madison and Nathan Lingle; his 4 great-grandchildren, Anneliese, Quinton, Ezekiel, and Richard; his brother, Raymond (Kathy) Ordway; his sister, Linda (Mike) Bazelides; his sister-in-law, Yvonne (Gary) Long; his nephew, Eric (Katie) Stewart; his niece, Darcey Carpenter; as well as many other nieces, nephews, and other loving family and friends.
He is predeceased by his wife, Patty Ordway; his parents, Harold and Dorothy Ordway; his sister, Jackie Emberton; his parents-in-law, Frank and Antonia Libertin; and his sister-in-law, Karen Libertin.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Sault Ste. Marie VBS or the Shiawassee County Relay for Life.
