Dennis A. Brown
Age 72 of Owosso formerly of Burton passed away Friday, January 11, 2013 at Memorial Healthcare Center.
Funeral services will be held 11am Thursday, January 17, 2013 at Nelson-House Funeral Home with Pastor Gary from the East Gate Baptist Church in Burton officiating. Burial will follow at Flint Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6 to 8pm and Wednesday from 2 to 8pm.
Dennis was born April 30 1940 in Flint, the son of Loren and Hilda (Betts) Brown.
He graduated from Bentley High School in Flint, served in the National Guard and was a member of East Gate Baptist Church in Burton. He was an avid bowler belonging to several leagues in Flint. He enjoyed golfing and playing shuffled board while in Florida. Most of all Dennis looked forward to time with family and friends; he especially enjoyed taking walks with his dog.
Dennis married Lina Pierce on October 2, 1999 at the East Gate Baptist Church in Burton.
He was employed by General Motors.
Dennis is survived by his wife Lina; Baxter Allen Brown who predeceased him on September 26, 2012 at the age of 13; children Jim (Renee) Richmond, Paula Richmond and Steve; grandchildren Leslie, Jordan, Kacie, Bill, Michael, Courtney and Matthew; 3 great-grandchildren Chase, Brooklyn Nichole and Zoey Rose; brother Bart (Irene) Brown; sisters Connie Sersaw and Judy Brown; special friends Helen Simpson and Tony (Deanna) Morningstar; many nieces and nephews and other loving family members and friends.
He is predeceased by his parents and son Jerry Richmond Jr.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Diabetes Association.
