Mrs. Maxine Mays was born May 27,1934 in Tulsa, Ok. The daughter of John (Lovie Early) Mays and where she graduated from B.T. Washington High School. She married Mr. Willie B. Mays in 1963 and was a member of the Macedonia M.B. Church family in Flint, Mi. where she served as Sunday School Teacher for the seniors She retired from Hurley Medical Center as a Lab Tech. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, macramé and fishing. She leaves to cherish her memory 2 daughters Kathryn Blake and Dinah Hairston both of Flint, Michigan, son Derek Mason of Tulsa, Oklahoma, 10 grandchildren,31 great grandchildren, 17 great great grandchildren 2 nieces, Carolyn Crawford of Garland, Texas and Juanita Fox of Tulsa, Oklahoma. A host of nieces and nephews in Detroit, Michigan and McComb, Mississippi, Texas and Oklahoma and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Willie B. Mays Sr., 2 sons, Willie B. Mays, Jr. and Paul Mays, granddaughter, Miquela Mays, and her parents. The family wishes to express special thanks to Pastor Berry and the Macedonia Church Family and The Lorado Ave. Community for their prayers and continued support and Heartland Hospice Staff including LaTonya Stanley and Tashima Tyler for their outstanding care shown to Mrs. Mays and Paul Herring, owner of Spectacle Productions. |
