ASBURY, Shirley Marie – of Clio, age 65, died Thursday, March 7, 2013 at McLaren of Flint. Memorial services will be held at 1 PM Monday, March 11, 2013 at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Bill Beasinger officiating. Cremation has taken place. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 11 to 1 PM.
Shirley was born July 21, 1947 in Flint to the late Howard and Marie (Nelson) Lewis. She married Cecil Asbury on March 11, 1966 and lived in Clio most of her life. She retired from AC in 1996 and was a member of the UAW Local #659. She enjoyed shopping, vacationing, camping and scrap booking.
Surviving are: husband, Cecil; son, William Asbury of Flint; 3 grandchildren, Jennifer (Lawrence) McPeek of Midland, Cody Asbury of Flint, William Asbury II of Clio; great grandson, Aiden McPeek of Midland; brothers, Bill (Debbie) Lewis of Gladwin, Jack (Tonda) Lewis of Mt. Morris; several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by: son, Robert Asbury in 1998; daughter in law, Cindy Asbury in 1996; and a brother, Kenneth Lewis in 2011.
