Rex Douglas Thomas, age 73, passed away on Tuesday, March 31, 2020. He was born on February 16, 1947 in Flint, Michigan to parents Elwood Thomas and Gladys (Hocking) Waldron. Rex proudly served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He later went to work for Buick and retired after many years of service. Rex enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family. Rex is survived by his wife, Roberta (Pelch) Thomas; daughter, Barbra (Mike) Cobanovich; grandchildren: Greg Westbrook, Nick Westbrook, Nathan Westbrook, Zach Cobanovich, Jarrett Cobanovich, and Kaylee Cobanovich; mother, Gladys Waldron; siblings: Nanette (Michael) Shustock, Calvin Waldron, Diane Bleau, John Waldron, Tom Thomas, Rhonda King, Bill Thomas, and Nomie Mills; sister-in-law, Mae Waldron; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Elwood Thomas; step-father, Neil Waldron; daughter, Lisa Ann Westbrook; sister, Marie Whitney; brother, Frederick Waldron; mother and father in law, Lillian and Robert Pelch. A private graveside service will be held at Flint Memorial Park and a memorial service will be held at a later date. Those desiring may make a memorial contribution to the National Rifle Association. |
