John F. Sellinger, age 87 of Grand Blanc, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 23, 2019. He was born on February 26, 1932 in Flint, Michigan to parents John and Elizabeth (Weber) Sellinger. John married his high school sweetheart, Eva (Lannom) Sellinger on September 17, 1950. He later graduated from GMI in 1954 and then worked at GM performing various engineering assignments at Buick and GM Service Parts Operations. He retired from GM in 1989 as Director of Engineering and Quality Control for North America. After retiring he worked at RC Engineering, was involved in GMI alumni organizations and was an active member of Society of Automotive Engineers. John was a member and served as an elder at Kirkridge United Presbyterian Church. John will be lovingly remembered by his children: children: Jeannie (Terry) Matherly and John (Jody) Sellinger, Jr.; grandchildren: Kimberly (Phil) Wolkins, Keeli Matherly and fiance, Michael Donovan, Katie (Jacob) Swanson, Dana (Andy) Katterman, and David Sellinger; great grandchildren: Kylie and Lincoln Katterman. He was preceded in death by both parents; his wife of 69 years, Eva Mae Sellinger. A memorial service will take place at 11am on Saturday, January 11, 2020 at Hill Funeral Home, 11723 S. Saginaw St., Grand Blanc. The family will receive visitors two hours prior to the service, beginning at 9am. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to Medical Team Hospice. |
