Violet "Jeri" Denind, age 89, of Lapeer, died Tuesday, August 30, 2011. Jeri was born June 7, 1922 in Oblong, Illinois to Walter Edward and Audrey Elizabeth (Dunlap) Denind. She worked at McCrory Dime Store, for Dr. Graham (a local dentist) and for Detroit Edison over 41 years. Jeri attended Trinity United Methodist Church in Lapeer. She especially enjoyed traveling, Jeri had been to South America, Europe, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Haita and even Cuba (before Castro). Ms. Denind is survived by her Brother: Donald Richard (Patricia) Denind of California, Sisters: Barbara Ann (Delbert) Shepard of California and Patricia Mae Tennison of Florida; many nieces and nephews. Jeri was preceded in death by her parents: Walter and Audrey Denind; brothers: Thomas Eugene Denind, Walter Edward Denind, Jr., and William Kenneth Denind; sisters: Betty Bernice Winn and Esther Marie Krawczak. Visitation Thursday from 4-8pm at the funeral home. Funeral service will be held Friday, September 2, 2011, 11:00am at Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Lapeer (810)664-8111. |
