Florence Peters, affectionately known as Flo, passed away on October 25, 2024, at the age of 80. Born on February 3, 1944, in Doddsville, Mississippi, she spent her final years in Corunna, Michigan.
Florence was a vibrant and giving individual, whose passion for life was evident through her love for sewing, trips to the casino, playing bingo, and making delicious tamales. She found joy in the simple pleasures, often indulging in donuts while grocery shopping. Florence was a talented chef, especially when it came to Mexican food, her favorite food to cook and eat. Her musical tastes ranged from uplifting Christian music to the timeless sounds of Elvis and Motown classics.
A devoted mother, Florence is survived by her beloved daughters, Sally Velasquez, Elizabeth Cunningham, and Antonia Kidd, along with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, siblings, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald, with whom she is now joyfully reunited. Florence was known for her independent spirit and enjoyed taking road trips, always eager to experience new places and create lasting memories with her family.
Florence had a profound impact on the lives of those around her, always ready to lend a helping hand or offer support. Her love for her church and community was unwavering, and she dedicated herself to helping others in need.
Her warm heart and generous nature will be remembered fondly by all who knew her. Florence Peters will be greatly missed, but her legacy of love and kindness will live on in the hearts of her family and friends. |
