PIECHOWSKI, David Thomas – Of Traverse City, formerly of Flint, age 68, died Monday, October 31, 2016 at his residence.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12 noon Thursday, November 3, 2016 at St. Michael Catholic Church, 609 East Fifth Avenue, Flint, Father Bill Lugger officiating.
Cremation will take place following the Mass.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Educational Fund for Spencer and Kendall Rutherford at Powers High School.
Visitation 2-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road.
Mr. Piechowski will be at the church from 11 a.m. Thursday until the time of the Mass.
David was born in Flint, Michigan on December 1, 1947, the son of the late Richard and Helen Piechowski.
He married Linda Mossman on February 4, 1967.
He served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam and received the Purple Heart.
He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church in Flint.
Mr. Piechowski was employed by Chevrolet Truck & Bus for 42 years.
Surviving are wife, Linda;
two children, Jeffrey (Martie) and Amy (Jeremy) Piechowski-Gabriel;
five granddaughters, Carson, Spencer, Kendall, Kalie and Zoie;
brother, Bruce (Maryann);
sister, Barbara (Phillip)Brown;
brother, Martin (Marcia);
brother, Mark (Rose);
brother-in-law, Gary (Linda) Mossman;
sisters-in-law, Marcia (Richard) Brandt and Brenda (Greg) Tassell;
several nieces, nephews; great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by brother, Phillip and in-laws, Vern and June Mossman.
