RALPH O. WARBY, age 80 of Otisville, died Thursday, May 2, 2013 at McLaren-Flint. His funeral service will be held at 1PM Monday, May 6, 2013 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Millington, with Rev. Kirk Abatelli officiating. Burial will follow in Flint Memorial Park. Visitation will be Saturday, May 4, 2013 from 5PM until 8PM, Sunday, May 5, 2013 from 12PM until 8PM at the funeral home, and Monday, May 6, 2013 from 11AM until time of service at the church. Contributions may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church or the American Diabetes Association. Ralph was born on November 29, 1932 to Merton and Ivah Warby. He was a member of the Great Lakes Draft Horse Association and the Thumb Area Draft Horse Association. He was also a member of the Detroit Teamsters for 50 years, driving for Holloway Trucking. After retiring, Ralph helped at Johnson’s Farms. Ralph was an accomplished horseman and enjoyed showing draft horses. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Surviving is his wife, Nancy Warby; children: Ralph L. (Deborah A.) Warby, Delores (Mike) Young, Lois (Wayne) Carlson, Deborah K. Warby, Gwen (Paul) Marsh, and Carolyn (Larry) Mulkey; daughter-in-law, Carol Warby; stepchildren: Leta Brown, Christine (Nathan) Beethe, and Keith Brown; 24 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters: John (June) Warby, Helen Flint, Evelyn (George) Adam, Myrtle Russell, Maxine (Walter) Whitfield, Vera Palmer, Sherwood (Connie) Warby, Merton (Cathy) Warby, and Anna (Alex) Franco; brother-in-law, John Kirst; sister-in-laws: Reha Severns, Mary Hutchinson, and Helen Davis. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Bethelean Warby; son, Darwin Warby; his parents; brother, Elmer Warby; and sister, Beverly Krist. |
