SHIPLEY, Kenneth Clarence Shipley III – Of Burton, age 45, died Thursday, December 6, 2018 at Hurley Medical Center.
Funeral service will be held 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at New Testament Church, 3484 Belsay Road, Burton, Pastor Darrell Bailey officiating.
Cremation will take place following the service.
Those desiring may make contributions to the family.
Visitation 11 a.m. – 8 p.m. Monday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road.
Ken will be at the church from 11 a.m. Tuesday until the time of the service.
Kenneth was born in Flint, Michigan on October 9, 1973, the son of Kenneth C. Shipley Jr. and Sherry Williams.
He graduated from Linden High School, where he played football and baseball. He graduated from Mott community College and was attending Baker to obtain his Bachelor’s Degree.
On October 11, 2003 he married Amanda Bodfield.
Ken spent his early days as a demolition worker. He became a nurse and dearly loved his job. He was a member of New Testament Church. Overall, Ken was a devoted husband and father.
Surviving are wife, Amanda Shipley;
children, Gabriel and Natalie Shipley;
parents, Kenneth (Jean) Shipley and Sherry (John) Williams;
siblings, Scott Ringsred, Marci (Scott) Hamilton, Jeff (Kelly) Williams and Julie (Greg) Beaudette;
mother-in-law, Robin (Louis) Hinman and father-in-law, Kevin (Cathy) VanKirk;
several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews and many special friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ken (Neva) Shipley, Mildred (Lavern) Bacon and Michael Lowry.
