COVERT, Marjorie Ann – of Mt. Morris, age 72, passed away Monday, November 18, 2024, at her residence after a courageous battle with cancer. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2 PM Saturday, November 23, 2024, at South Creek Estates Clubhouse, 9120 Vienna Drive, Mt. Morris, Michigan. The family will continue to receive visitors after the service until 6 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Salvation Army, in Marjorie’s memory.
Marjorie was born in Ypsilanti, MI on May 29, 1952, daughter of the late Edward Wallace and Monica Mary (Coughlin) Ostram. She married Michael Covert and he preceded her in death February 16, 2005.
Marjorie expressed how fortunate she was to be a stay-at-home mother to her five children. She took joy in attending their many activities, school functions and sporting events throughout the years. Marjorie, along with her husband Mike, enjoyed their time together bowling, playing shuffleboard, dancing and especially eating Chinese food. Marjorie also enjoyed movies, crosswords, and her flower gardens. She always looked forward to spending time with her siblings and in-laws for holidays and family gatherings. Her role as a grandmother and great-grandmother meant the world to her. Her family made her extremely happy, but most of all very proud. Marjorie was selfless, never putting her own wants or needs above her family’s. She taught her children many valuable lessons and created wonderful memories that will be carried on for generations. Marjorie will be greatly missed by everyone that loves her. Her family takes comfort knowing that she is walking with God with Mike by her side once again.

Marjorie is survived by her loving children, Monica Covert, Michelle (Chris) Slieff, Michael Covert II, Matthew Covert and Mark (Heather Haack) Covert; grandchildren, Jon, Joslynn, Sara, Emily, Christina, Charlotte, Michael III, Landon, Carson and Mark II; great-grandchildren, Michael, Brooklyn, Annabelle, Maria, Braylee, Dylan, Chloe, Sophie, Michaela, Jose III, Madison; siblings, Sharon, Mary, Annette; and many other loving family members and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Marjorie was preceded in death by siblings, Patricia, Donald, Ronald.
