WEAVER, Douglas - of Mt. Morris, age 63, passed away May 6, 2015 at Hurley Medical Center. A celebration of his life will be at 2PM Friday, May 8, 2015 with visitation from 11AM until the time of the service at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison; Rev. Fr. Jay Gantz officiating. A private burial will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
Doug was born in Flint, MI on May 15, 1951, son of Douglas and Eleanor (Dykstra) Weaver. He married Janelle (Whitten) on July 3, 1978. Doug is survived by wife, Janelle (Whitten) Weaver; daughter, Jennifer (Jim) DePottey and grandson Jameson DePottey; mother, Eleanor Weaver; sister, Sue (Ken) Malcolm; Nephew, Greg (Leah) Malcolm; Nephew, Kevin Malcolm; brother-in-law, Ken Thompson; Nephew, Dan Thompson; Niece, Kim Thompson, as well as several great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by father, Douglas Weaver and sister, Carol Thompson.
Doug retired from GM Flint Metal Fab as a Crane Operator and instructor in 2010 after 41 years. He was an avid hunter, handyman and mechanic. He especially enjoyed riding his motorcycle and spending time with his grandson Jameson. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father and Papa and will be missed greatly.
