BANKS, Arlene (Cromwell) – Of Mt. Morris, age 76, died Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at Fostrian Manor.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 22, 2012 at Westwood Heights Free Methodist Church 3397 Windland, Flint, Reverend Dr. Bruce Cromwell officiating.
Burial in Flushing Cemetery.
Those desiring may make contributions to Westwood Heights Free Methodist Church.
Visitation 1-3 and 5-8 p.m. Friday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road. Mrs. Banks will be at the church from 10:30 a.m. Saturday until the time of the service.
Arlene born on October 23, 1935 in Nunda, New York, to William and Ruby (Wambold) Cromwell. She is formerly of Black Creek, New York and has lived in the Flint area most of her adult life.
On August 10, 1957, she married Gordon G. Banks, in Belfast, New York.
Mrs. Banks worked as a teacher for the Flint and Clio School Districts and was a wonderful mother.
She was a member of the Westwood Heights Free Methodist Church.
Surviving her are husband, Gordon;
children, Susan (Robert) Miller,
Nancy (Matt) Reed and
David (Laura) Banks;
grandchildren, Kendall, Luke and Jake;
brothers and sisters, Lee (Kay) Cromwell, Keith Cromwell, Merle (MaryLou) Cromwell, Margaret (Wayne) Bovee and Joyce Cromwell;
Arlene was preceded in death by her parents, William and Ruby Cromwell; brothers, Gordon Cromwell, Ralph Cromwell and Gerald Cromwell; sisters in law, Jeanne Cromwell, Carol Cromwell and Rachel Cromwell; mother and father-in-law, Rollin and Mabel Banks.
