DeFLORIO -- Rose Marie -- Age 91, died May 30, 2011 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Funeral Services will be 1 PM Thursday, June 2 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, Fr. Steve Makranyi officiating. Interment in Flint Memorial Park, Mt. Morris. Visitation will be 2-9 PM Wednesday, and 12-1 PM Thursday. Those desiring may make contributions to the Parkinsons Foundation or the Great Lakes Cancer Institute, Flint. Rose was born February 18, 1920 in Mt. Morris the daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth (Serres) Police. She married Anthony DeFlorio on August 21, 1948 in Flint; he preceded her in death November 9, 1988. She had resided in Burton the past 20 years coming from Flint and Mt. Morris. She worked for the Flint Board of Education in Food service retiring in 1978. Rose enjoyed casinos, Bingo, and cooking. Surviving are: three children, Joann and husband Bob Hurrell of Flushing, Linda DeFlorio of Swartz Creek, Anthony and wife Rita DeFlorio of Flushing; four grandchildren, Amy Hurrell of Denver; Laura Hurrell of Denver; Anthony DeFlorio Jr. of Flushing, Matthew DeFlorio of Flushing; sister Mary Zitterkoph of Flushing; companion Al Tremblay; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband six brothers; and four sisters. The family extends a special thanks to the staff at Maplewood Manor, the doctors and nurses who cared for her at McLaren; and Dr. Sattar.
